We spend our day to day lives criticizing our country
She is bad, a bag of refuge
She is a waste

We spend our day to day lives planning on ways to leave the nation
I will go, I must go
And then you’re gone

If we Nigerians only sit back and complain
Only lay down and wait for a change
There will be no difference
And there would be no gain

So I say rise Nigerians rise!
Open your ears wide and listen to the cries of your motherland
Get off your backs for it is a time of war
A war of helpful action
This is your duty, this is service
This is your chance to end Nigeria’s pain

Time for all the 36 states to join hands
Time for us to stop chitty-chatting about the many problems we may face
Rather it is time to find a solution
